5 Events in Barcelona for Entrepreneurs

What is entrepreneurship? According to the dictionary, it means “to face and start a work, a business, an endeavor, especially if it involves difficulty or danger.” However, many argue that entrepreneurship is much more than that: it’s a way of seeing the world, an attitude of creating and transforming reality. As entrepreneur Marie Forleo said: “Don’t start a business to make money. Start a business to make a difference.”

Barcelona provides a wide variety of resources, events, and programs to assist entrepreneurs throughout all stages of their projects.

So, if you’re in town, we want you to make the most of your time here and the opportunities available. Below, we recommend 5 events you can’t miss, where you can connect with other entrepreneurs and professionals in the sector to learn and get inspired in an effective, yet entertaining way.

5 events in Barcelona for entrepreneurs

“Beyond the Glass Ceiling”: Women who shape the future

“The glass ceiling” is the term we use to describe the invisible barriers that hinder the professional growth of women. However, many of them, despite these obstacles (which are not few), have managed to shine and venture into fields as difficult and male-dominated as, for example, investment.

This event,, organized by the startup Accelerator, will take place next Tuesday, February 27th. It provides an opportunity to meet three women entrepreneurs who will share their personal stories, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the successes they’ve achieved in the challenging world of startups.

  • Ana Guasch Seculi: A “jack-of-all-trades” woman entrepreneur, investor, mentor, and educator. She has founded and co-founded several companies, raising over 1.5 million euros, leading pioneering projects such as Robinbrick (Big Data Solution, 2017) and Ecoología (E-commerce eco-fashion, 2006).
  • Sokhiba Mukhitdinova is a venture capital investor with extensive experience in startups with a global perspective. Currently, she works as a venture capital investor at InsurTech NY, a platform that connects operators, brokers, investors, and InsurTech startups.
  • Miriam Wickertsheim is an entrepreneur with over 13 years of experience in the Chinese market, specializing in the B2B industrial sector. Her primary focus is on identifying and partnering with globally leading companies, with an emphasis on high-level executive selection. Miriam also provides assistance to various German companies in addressing challenges related to human resources management.

The event will conclude with a networking session, where you’ll have the opportunity to connect and get inspired alongside other entrepreneurs and investors, as well as engage in face-to-face conversations with the speakers and other distinguished guests.

KCN Networking Breakfast: Entrepreneurship and networking

It may seem obvious, but the reality is that there isn’t a single way to tackle entrepreneurship: from launching a tech startup to opening a restaurant, or even developing a mobile app. In other words, entrepreneurship goes far beyond creating a project (in a specific way) in a conventional office; and that’s exactly what the KCN event demonstrates to us.

EAT & MEET breakfasts are business meetings where you can conduct business, start ventures, and showcase your project among local entrepreneurs in a relaxed environment. This event combines gastronomy (#foodie) with networking, offering a #healthy breakfast accompanied not only by good food but also by experts who can provide you with the opportunity to grow as an entrepreneur or business owner.

So, if you live in Barcelona or nearby and are eager to create synergies that accelerate and grow your project, we invite you to this event on March 14th.

Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week: March 5th to 7th (Barcelona)

From March 5th to 7th, Barcelona will be hosting the fourth edition of the Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week, an event you simply can’t miss! This forum has become an essential platform for discussing gender equality in the business realm and underlining the significant role women play in key sectors of the economy.

This year, thanks to the organization of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) and the support of the Incyde Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce of Spain, we’re in for an event that not only highlights Barcelona’s importance as a hub for “new entrepreneurship” but also underscores the city’s dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where women’s role is pivotal.

The event will be held in person at DFactory Barcelona and will also be streamed live on their website. However, if you’re curious about what to expect, you can check out a video from last year’s event. It’ll give you a glimpse of how fantastic it’s going to be.

Startup/ Investor Open Coffee: Open discussions to finish your projects

Startup/Investor Open Coffee is coming up on March 5th as the perfect opportunity to understand the basics for any startup looking to succeed. It’s a laid-back session, following an open structure, acting as a bridge between startups and investors.

Here, you can join other entrepreneurs in introducing yourself and sharing the challenges you’re facing, not only with like-minded individuals but also with investors and mentors, regardless of the stage you’re at.

The event organizer, SIA, specializes in connecting startups with investors, excelling particularly in bridging the gap between ideas and funding. In any case, it’s a unique opportunity for hands-on learning, allowing both beginners and experts to immerse themselves in the world of entrepreneurship.
