But beyond just mindlessly scrolling through TikTok, our phones offer a whole array of cool features. And that’s where the Mobile World Congress comes in, turning Barcelona into a bustling hotspot for networking, learning, and showcasing the latest tech trends.

With over fifteen editions behind it, MWC 2024 takes on the slogan “Future First,” focusing on the transformative power of 5G technology and the advancement of artificial intelligence capabilities to make our devices smarter than ever.

Who’s set to participate in the Mobile World Congress?

Established in 2006, this mobile-centric event has blossomed into a global pinnacle of technology and innovation. What does this entail? It means that the event now attracts a wide array of participants, ranging from tech giants to startups. For instance, for the current edition, the organizers anticipate hosting over 95,000 attendees from 200+ countries and showcasing the offerings of more than 2,400 exhibitors.

This year, we anticipate big industry players such as Samsung, Huawei, Google, and Meta Platforms. But this isn’t just about major corporations. The MWC also serves as a meeting point for some of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs. Figures like Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook and Sundar Pichai from Google have participated in previous editions, sharing their visions for the future of technology. For 2024, we expect the attendance of other renowned entrepreneurs, such as Julie Sweet, President and CEO of Accenture; Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies; and Brad Smith, former Executive Vice President of Microsoft.

EAE Barcelona 4FYN at the MWC – Impact Awards

Adding to the excitement, this year holds a special significance: it marks the tenth anniversary of 4YFN, an event within the congress tailored for technological and digital startups. In line with this milestone, EAE Business School is not lagging behind and has set up the 2024 Impact Awards to recognize entrepreneurs who are crafting business models aligned with the United Nations’ sustainable development goals.

This celebration is rounded off with a series of activities and presentations led by experts in the field. They’ll tackle topics ranging from technological innovation to the impact that mobile devices have on society, exploring how technology can act as a catalyst for social, economic, and environmental change.
